The University College Falmouth (Cornwall), in partnership with Arts for Health Cornwall, is offering a funded PhD ‘Use Your Hands for Happiness’: crafts practice as a means of building community assets, health and well-being. This AHRC doctoral studentship focuses on the diverse ways in which craft practice can enhance the well-being and health of communities in primary care health practice initiatives or as part of creative arts health programmes. The central themes will be questions of craft within social networks, creative and embodied practices. The PhD is full time and covers fees and a stipend of 14,140 per year plus £1500 p/a research expenses. Applications should be submitted by13th July 2012.
